About Johnston Fruit Farms

Johnston Fruit Farms on US-20A in Swanton is a family-run orchard and farm market west of Toledo. In the fall it has u-pick apples and pumpkins, fresh donuts and cider from its own press, and a free petting zoo.

Does it cost anything to get in?

No. Parking and entry are free, and so are the petting zoo, games, sandbox and the pumpkin wall photo area. You pay for what you pick and buy.

How long do apples and pumpkins last into the fall?

The farm says u-pick apples are plentiful from early September to October 31, and that there are plenty of pumpkins all the way up to October 31. You can pick from the u-pick patch or straight off the pumpkin wall.

What will the kids like?

The petting zoo has a donkey, a miniature horse, goats and chickens, with picnic tables, restrooms and a handwashing station nearby. A viewing window lets you watch cider being pressed, and there are hayrides and cider slushies on weekends.

Can we bring the dog?

Leashed dogs are allowed in the petting zoo, the pumpkin wall area and the pumpkin patch, but not in other parts of the farm, and only service dogs may go in the store. The market is open Monday through Saturday 8:30 AM to 7 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 6 PM.
