Lewin Farms

Lewin Farms on Sound Avenue in Calverton is a fourth-generation family farm that calls itself the first pick-your-own farm on Long Island. In the fall it has pumpkin picking, a corn maze and a farm stand.

When can we pick pumpkins?

Pumpkins, gourds and winter squash run from mid to late September until late October. The farm asks you to call ahead for what is ready to pick, at (631) 929-4327.

What is the corn maze like?

It covers about 4 acres and is open on weekends and holidays, weather permitting. Numbered checkpoints at the intersections help you tell whether you are moving forward, and there is no smoking or open flame in the maze.

Are there baked goods?

Yes, pies and other baked goods are sold on weekends. Come early, because they often sell out.
