Home / Jonamac Orchard - Malta, Illinois Fall Activities
Jonamac Orchard is a three-generation family farm on Shabbona Road in Malta, run by the McArtor and Spychal family since 1984. In the fall it has apple picking, a pumpkin patch, flower fields, a corn maze, play activities and a store and bakery.
Do we need tickets?
On Saturdays, Sundays and holiday Mondays such as Columbus Day, general admission is required and all activities are open from 9 AM to 5:30 PM. On regular weekdays no general admission is needed, and play activities run from 11 AM. Last entry for the corn maze and picking is 30 minutes before close.
How does pumpkin picking work?
Patch pumpkins are 2 for $20, and wagon rides out to the patch run on weekends only. Wheelbarrows are on hand, and pre-picked pumpkins are sold near the store any day: $5 small, $10 basketball-sized, $15 larger, with minis and gourds at $2. The patch is a muddy field of vines, so wear old shoes.
Can we still pick apples?
Apple picking runs from September to mid-October, 9 AM to 5 PM daily. A half-peck bag is $16 and up to 4 people can pick into one bag; buy the bag before you start.
Is the haunted corn maze okay for kids?
It is recommended for ages 13 and up. It runs Friday and Saturday nights in October from sunset to 10:30 PM, costs $17, and takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Costumes are not allowed, and pre-buying tickets guarantees entry.
